Jamie and Lisa have been running Shelduck Photography for 7 years from our home in Wootton Courtenay in the beautiful Exmoor National Park.
We are blessed to live in such a wonderful place, with wildlife aplenty on our doorstep.
On our website we aim to show the rich variety of mammals and birds that live and breed in the area.
The most majestic animal is the Red Deer, Britain’s largest land mammal. Red Deer are our passion, and we spend many hours trying to get close to them and photograph them.
Exmoor is also home to the Exmoor Pony, whose roots go back to prehistoric times, Brown Hares, Foxes, Badgers and many more species. We have many species of breeding and migratory birds, including a good influx of Cuckoos every spring.
Exmoor has a variety of landscapes, from the Bristol Channel, and its hog backed cliffs and the harbours of Porlock Weir and Lynmouth, to the high moorland of Dunkery and The Chains. Of particular note are the extensive ancient deciduous woodlands and their abundant wildlife.
Apart from the glories of Exmoor, we regularly visit other parts of the UK especially Wales, Glen Lyon in Perthshire, and Northumberland. You will find several photographs of these beautiful areas on the site.
We try to get the photo right at the time of taking the shot. We don’t have Photoshop or Lightroom but use Picasa which works for us. We hope you enjoy our range of photographs, and that they might inspire you to either take up the subject or take your photography further.
We look forward to meeting as many people as possible at the various local craft fairs and shows where we sell our photos, greetings cards and our calendars and address books.
We hope you like our photos and enjoy viewing them as much as we did taking them.
